HOW TO SELECT THE PATTERNS OPTION IN PHOTOSHOP?

 Before we understand that how to create a new pattern or save a new pattern, we must understand that what is a pattern?

PATTERN DEFINETION: - A pattern can be called as the series or may be repetition of an image to create a desired repeated decorative design or a template which can be used to fill a layer or particular selection.

There are various patterns available in photoshop known as preset patterns. Some examples of preset patterns are as follows: -

grass, water, trees and with some legacy patterns and more.

HOW TO SELECT THE PATTERNS OPTION: -

You can add a preset pattern to your layer or selection by clicking on layer option then selecting the option new fill layer then choose option pattern, then you can name the layer to and select the type of preset pattern you want to select.

Second way to select a pattern is to choose the option windows at the top bar, then select the patterns options, then patterns panel will display and you can select you desired pattern.

Third option is to directly search pattern from the search bar option( present at the TOP-Right-side and type patterns it will display three options that are: -

To choose pattern by selection the layer option at the top bar which process is explained above, secondly, by choosing patterns options from the windows option which is clearly explained above and third option which is by directly choosing patterns from the patterns panel by clicking on the patterns and the system will automatically display the patterns in patterns panel starting from the preset patterns which are basic, then legacy and more to finally which are created by you( though this alignment can be changed ).

How to create a pattern and save it? 

Now get to know that how a design shape or an image is made as a pattern for an image.

Use any tool to select the desired portion or area to use as a pattern, tools for selection can be rectangle marquee tool, quick selection tool, lasso tool and etc.

Once you have selected the desired area to set as a pattern then choose edit option then define pattern.

Enter the name in the pattern name dialog box.

By following the same procedure for your desired shape or design you can make pattern to fill the desired selection or layer.

CONCLUSION-

THE METHOD TO SAVE THE PATTERN IS: - Open the pattern you want to add in Photoshop, go to Select All, then select Edit Define Pattern.

To save image as a pattern, open the image to want to be the pattern then go to EDIT, select DEFINE PATTERN. And that's it! You can now go back to your edit and use this as a pattern overlay to your text, image, pattern to your stroke, etc.
